The Pend

Luxury accommodation in the heart of Scotland

Hello, I'm Molly. Yes that's me in the doorway! Please click on the picture because I can't see you very well from down here.

That's better. Thanks . Now I'd better tell you a bit about me. I'm a Westie - which is short for West Highland White Terrier. I've had 15 puppies between 24th June 2003 and 20th January 2004. Bridie, one of my daughters from the first litter helps me to run The Pend. Here's a photo of us being festive last Christmas.

We live at The Pend with our Mum and Dad, Marina and Peter, and while I look after the website and deal with all internet bookings, Bridie is in charge of looking after guests, showing them where everything is and taking them for guided walks and things. We like the walks best because we usually get to chase the ducks down by the river - woof woof! We're both multi-lingual - so it doesn't matter where you come from - you can understand what we say............ (I mean) "bark". Mum & Dad tell me it's because we've got a pedigree - whatever that is? Oh... I can also type and play the bodhran (Irish drum) like my dad as well! Oh! and he says I must tell you about our smoking policy.Although hardly any of our guests smoke in the house already, as from 26 March 2006 the law changed in Scotland to ban smoking altogether in places that provide food. That includes us. We are too small to designate special smoking bedrooms so we are completely non-smoking from now on. We hope you will appreciate the clean environment.

From your arrival to departure we try very hard to make sure you enjoy your stay with us in every respect. We hope when you leave you will want to come back again. Practically speaking this means we have to achieve standards set by organisations like The Scottish Tourist Board and others. We have been graded at 4 Star since opening in 1997; Welcome Host & Scotland's Best Qualified since 1998. In 2001 we achieved "Investor in People" standard. Two independent guides have judged us to be the best in Scotland and we have had recognition for the quality of our food and wine. More details are given on the relevant pages. Wow!! That means you'll just have to come and stay with us doesn't it. Woof, woof.

Come on in and let me show you around our house and tell you what we do.
